Are existing accessories compatible with aluminum cable?   Yes, with one exception. Grounding kits for aluminum cable must be tin plated. The following part numbers are available for the aluminum cable line: SGL5-06B2-T, SGL5-15B4-T, SGL7-06B2-T, SGL7-15B4-T. These grounding kits, with a tin plating become universal, that is they are 100% compatible with all HELIAX copper or aluminum cables. All other accessories; hoisting grips, hangers, weatherproofing kits, and cable boots are equally suited for aluminum or copper cable use.

Does the preparation of aluminum cable for connector attachment require new cutting tools?
No, the HELIAX® cutting tools are compatible with aluminum or copper cable. Part numbers MCPT-78, CPT-78U and CPT-158U are popular choices.

Are existing connectors compatible with Al cable?
Yes, the A-series connectors (for AVA cables) work on the AL cables. The plating on these connectors is good when attaching to either aluminum or copper. For 1-5/8¿ cables there is the new AL-series connectors that work on ANY Andrew 1-5/8 cable.
